3-5-7-9, This is Only A Test
Now, relax and take a deep breath.
The following quizzes are not about your knowledge of chords, scales, arpeggios and their application on the guitar ~ they're only about your fretboard. Specifically,
the inlaid position markers on your fretboard.
It seems no one really knows when position markers first appeared, or why they were placed on the odd frets, but we've been dodging the dots, tripping over trapezoids and plowing through
parallelograms for as long as we can remember.
Not only do position markers make it easier for us to find our way around
the fretboard, but, they also enable us to identify a specific guitar just by their shape alone. Do you think that you could identify a guitar
by the shape of its position markers? Well, the following quizzes will help
you find out.
So, grab a pencil, your Blue Book of Guitars, and see if you can match the position marker to the guitar it's on. And just in case you need them, the answers follow the quizzes. Good luck!
